In einer Version des Mythos Der Widerstreit von Horus und Seth sticht Seth Horus beide Augen aus (siehe oben), in einer anderen Fassung hingegen verlor Horus im Kampf gegen Seth nur das linke Auge, das sogenannte Mondauge. Dieses wird als „Horus-Auge", auch „Udjat-Auge", bezeichnet.Es ist das heile oder gesunde Auge.In beiden Fassungen des Mythos erhält Horus jedoch das Augenlicht.
